The curriculum consists of a core of five courses, plus three additional electives and a masters design project. The core courses are taught every year, and students may complete the program in a single year. The design projects have a strong applications orientation, giving students experience in putting principles learned in the classroom to practical use.
The program is jointly administered by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical Engineering. Graduates of the program receive an MS degree in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and a Certificate in Networking and Communications.
